2017 Word of the Year

After praying and talking things over with Brad, he and I have decided that we too will come up with a word for the year... however, it wasn't really "we."  WE did not come up with this word.... rather the word was laid on our hearts...  and it is daunting!  Our word for the year is...

Yup... intentional....

For us, this refers to being intentional in EVERY aspect of our lives... in our prayer time, our worship time, our parenting, our schooling, when interacting with others, in our health, in our homestead, etc.  As we formulate our goals together, it with this word as our focus... Last year I made goals that would have been lovely to accomplish, but they had no central focus.  This year is different... there is so much more focus!

There are two key verses our family are going to focus on....

Proverbs 6:6-11 (NKJV) "Go to the ant, you sluggard!  Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest.  How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?  A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep - So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man."

1 Timothy 4:12-16 (NKJV) "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.  Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.  Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you be prophecy wit the laying on of the hands of the eldership.  Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.  Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine.  Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you."

What is your word for 2017?  I'd love to hear about it!  Just post in the comments below!
