For my youngest three children, we have been using Before Five in a Row for their reading curriculum. We have been doing it similarly to the idea of Five in a Row, but concentrating more on the fun activities :) each day we read the book and do activities. I decided to start with the books emphasizing colors. Our first book was "Yellow Ball" by Molly Bang. Our activities included:
- gluing yellow yarn on a capital Y
- dressing in yellow
- eating yellow foods, including corn, spaghetti squash, bananas, and yellow delicious apples
- painting and coloring with exclusively yellow
- bought lemons and made (and drank) lemonade
- played with a yellow balloon
- Do-a-dot Y with yellow
- lacing a yellow yarn ball.
